LEFT: Earlier English pattern (ca. 1700-1800) with one two-piece spring joined with a rivet and swivel, and one single-piece spring (possibly replaced, but if so it's from a very long time ago) deep pitting in all pieces indicates extreme age and exposure. Very heavy square shaped jaws with unique single-point foot attachment to the dogs. Pan partially rusted away.. no chain.
